We spent Saturday night at a really neat campground in Milton, FL. Will remember this one. Wouldn't mind spending some time there.
Sunday night found us at a CG on the grounds of a casino in Bossier City, LA. We walked over to the casino, thinking we might find a really good restaurant. The casino was older than dirt. The restaurant was pricy and nobody was eating there - not a good sign. We opted for cheeseburgers at the grill and an early night.
Monday, we made it to Tessa's house in Royse City. Tuesday was Malia's high school graduation, followed by a family dinner.
Being in Texas, meant we missed Sarah's graduation from elementary to middle school.
During the week, we visited with Tessa & family and my mom & David.
And, I cannot come to Texas and not at least have lunch with my BFF, Linda:
Mackie finally flew in on Saturday, June 7th, to journey west with us.
She had a quick visit with the family and we were ready to hit the road for the mountains on Monday morning. Not to be. Problem with one of the jacks. It just didn't want to come off the ground. After messing around with that all day, we spent another night at Tessa's house.
We were able to get the jacks up and left on Tuesday morning and stopped in Amarillo. I caught up on laundry (full hookups) and we all had a good night's rest.
Today, we headed west. No matter the scenery, it cannot compete with Mak's smartphone.
Today's shots were thru the windows:
We usually stop in Albuquerque to acclimate to the altitude, but they are having a grasshopper infestation problem of Biblical proportions . . . or so we are told. We did not want to be scrubbing those critters off the RV, so we detoured off 40 and landed in Santa Fe for the night. Charles & Jane were coming this way from Tennessee and landed in the same CG about an hour behind us. Good to see old friends again.
We went into town and picked up some groceries. Okay, Yes, we got our Sam's fix. As we are ready to call it a night, here's the sunset over Santa Fe (also taken thru the window while moving):
